SIBU: Local bodybuilding enthusiasts are invited to submit their entries for this year’s Mr Sibu championships, which will take place RH hotel here this April 8 (Sunday), scheduled to commence at 2pm.
According to Sibu Division Bodybuilding and Weightlifting Association (SDBWA) president Chia Soon Cheong, those from Sarikei, Kapit, Rajang, Mukah, Balingian, Tanjong Manis and the surrounding districts, towns and regions are also eligible to enter.
There will be six categories up for competition: four sub-categories under bodybuilding namely Novice, Under-65kg, 65.1kg–70kg and Above-70.1kg; and two sub-categories under athletic physique, Under-170cm and Above-170cm.
“There will be no entry fee. Those who perform well in Mr Sibu 2018 will be selected to represent this zone at the annual Mr Sarawak championships, to be hosted in Kuching on April 14 this year,” said Chia in a statement yesterday, adding that Rancangan Sibu 1 committee chairman Datuk Andrew Wong Kee Yew has been invited as the guest-of-honour for the event, to be staged at Rafflesia Room on Level 1 of the hotel.
Prior to the competition, the weigh-in and height-measuring session will be conducted at the Sunflower Room – also on Level 1 – scheduled to commence at 9am on the same day.
Registration forms for Mr Sibu 2018 are available at Sibu Gym office on the ground floor of Sibu Civic Centre.
