KUCHING: Dayak Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) has expressed its hope that the newly launched Petroleum Sarawak Berhad (Petros) will include and give Dayak oil and gas companies meaningful participation in the oil and gas industry in Sarawak.

Its secretary-general Libat Langub said with Petros’ commitment to carry out and execute the state’s aspirations for active local participation in the state’s oil and gas industry, there are a number of capable Dayak oil and gas companies with operations mainly based in Bintulu and Miri in need of business opportunities in this sector.

“DCCI therefore requests that the state government through Petros will assist them especially during the current challenging times in the oil and gas industry,” he said in a statement received here yesterday.

He expressed his confidence that the capabilities of the Dayak oil and gas industry players would be able to perform and deliver when given the opportunity.

In the statement, Libat also congratulated Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg and the state government for the successful launch of Petros which will spearhead the participation of the state in the oil and gas sector.
