PUTRAJAYA: Following the success of MamaCare, a programme providing holistic postnatal care services for mothers, the Women, Family and Community Development Ministry (KPWKM) has introduced MyPapaCare.

Minister Datuk Seri Rohani Abdul Karim said besides helping to improve the health and well-being of men, MyPapaCare also aimed to raise awareness on early detection of testicular and prostate cancer.

For a start, she said, 30 male reflexology practitioners were selected by the Federal Territory National Population and Family Development Board (LPPKN) as pioneers of the programme. They are operating at Klinik Nur Sejahtera on Level Four of KPWKM building here.

Rohani told reporters at the pre-launch of MyPapaCare at KPWKM here yesterday that the service costs RM1 per minute, similar to that charged by MamaCare.

She said KPWKM planned to train 100 MyPapaCare practitioners within a year to enable 10,000 men to utilise the services.

“MyPapaCare trainees upon completing the course would receive a certificate that qualifies them to apply for work at the hospital or anywhere,” she said.

She said those eligible to take the course are Malaysian citizens aged between 24 and 60 who have three years relevant experience, possess a level-three Malaysian Skills Certificate and from the low income or B40 bracket.

Rohani said MyPapaCare’s services would be expanded nationwide through LPPKN’s 50 Nur Sejahtera clinics. — Bernama
