KUCHING: Parti Pesaka Bumiputra Bersatu (PBB) Muara Tabuan unit head Dato Paruwadi Musa complains of having a tough time campaigning for Barisan Nasional (BN) in their area due to dogs let out by their owners.

He believed the dogs were deliberately let out by their owners to deter people, including them, from doing their rounds of campaigning for the BN.

He added that this was so because most of the locals are supporters of opposition parties, and were trying to stop them from going into the area.

“Each time we went there the dogs would either bark at us or worse, chase after us.

“Being chased and barked at by dogs is a nasty experience but nevertheless, we will continue to do our job.

“We do not want such tactic to break our spirit,” he said when contacted yesterday after accompanying Santubong incumbent Dato Sri Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar to attend an event at Tabuan Park flats on Saturday.

Paruwadi, meanwhile, called on party members to support Wan Junaidi’s renomination as BN candidate for the coming general election.

“Dato Sri Wan Junaidi can still serve the people well as he is very familiar with them.

“He has served the people well and we still want him as our representative.

“I hope the BN top leaders will consider renominating him for this election,” he added.

Paruwadi also hoped that Wan Junaidi would help to solve the many problems the people of Tabuan Melayu have if he were returned as their elected representative.
