MIRI: A total of RM503,600 minor rural project (MRP) grants were distributed to 42 organisations under the Mulu state constituency yesterday.
Mulu assemblyman Datuk Gerawat Gala, who presented the grants, called on recipients to give him reports on the progress or upon the successful completion of the projects.
“If any recipient fails to commence or complete past or existing projects, which they have already received MRP funds for, their future and further requests for MRP may not be considered,” he said yesterday.
The State Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker also reminded recipients not to keep the funds in their respective organisation accounts or use the grants for other purposes.
Gerawat also pointed out that his office did not have the funds to fulfil every request.
“However, for larger project funding, we will seek through the relevant government ministries and agencies,” he said.
