Tanah Laut police raid traditional liquor factory

PELAIHARI, S Kalimantan: The Tanah Laut Resort Police, South Kalimantan, raided a house in Angsau Village, Pelaihari Sub-district, which was used as a warehouse to process traditional liquor of tayuk and other liquors, AntaranewsKalsel reported.

“From the raid, we found 262 bottles of tayuk, 15 large blue barrels containing raw tayuk, and an iron barrel,” said Police Chief Adj Sr Comr (AKBP) Sentot Adi Dharmawan in Pelaihari on Monday (16/4).

According to him, the suspect maker of the tayuk has been arrested three times but has not stopped doing activities to make liquor.

“We hold the 2018 Sikat Intan Operation ahead of Ramadan in an effort to prevent the rising abuse of alcoholic beverages in the Tanah Laut,” he said.

In the Operation, Tanah Laut Police also managed to thwart the circulation of hundreds of bottles of liquor of various brands and secure the suspect owner.

“The suspect is subject to criminal acts in accordance with Local Regulation No.7/2014 on Public Order and Peace of the People with three months of confinement or a fine of Rp500 thousand,” he said.
