Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan

KOTA KINABALU: Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan said overwhelming request from the Barisan Nasional supreme council to the grassroots people is the reason leading him to contest in the 14th general election.

Pairin said this includes requests from Prime Minister Datuk Najib Razak and Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Musa Aman, both asking the 77-year-old to serve the people and coalition again.

“They like me,” he quipped when asked by the media at the PBS supplementary manifesto launch at Hotel Grandis here today.

Pairin will be defending his state constituency seat, Tambunan, whilst PBS vice president Datuk Daniel Linsik, 59, has been been given the tall task of defending the former’s Keningau parliamentary seat in GE14.
