TATAU: Bintulu Development Authority’s (BDA) anti-litter walk in Tatau District yesterday involved some 1,800 participants.

General manager Rodziah Morshidi said the campaign was part of efforts to instil greater awareness of cleanliness.

She said the campaign started in January in Bintulu town and will become BDA’s signature event to bring locals together to make Bintulu a better place.

“This campaign will be expanded to all districts in Bintulu including Tatau and Sebauh and today (yesterday) we are here and it shows that the Tatau people are also excited to work together with BDA to fight against litterbugs,” she said.

This is in line with BDA’s vision to transform Bintulu into a friendly industrial city by 2025.

She thanked all parties who supported the campaign in Tatau especially community leaders, heads of department, non-governmental organisations, SMK Tatau, SK Tatau, and SJK Chung Hua.

“This support also shows that the Tatau people also want this district to be free from rubbish and I hope this spirit can be emulated by others,” she said.
