DAP turns into slander factory to discredit BN govt, says Najib

PEKAN: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak describes the DAP as a “factory for slanders” which constantly endeavours to look for issues to tarnish the image of the Barisan Nasional (BN) and its leadership.

He said this was admitted by a member of the DAP party machinery who said the party deliberately created fake news and spread slanders to achieve the party’s objective of taking over the country’s administration.

“Today, I read in my smartphone a piece of news that someone who managed the news for the DAP admitting that he was no longer willing to spread slanders on the government which had been their job instruction all this while….it was deliberately planned.

“The DAP said that voting for the PKR is akin to voting for the DAP, so it means that if we do so, we are giving power to the DAP…I want to ask all this while whether the DAP had loved Felda or had struggled for the Bumiputera agenda.

“What will happen to UITM and Felda in future if they have no consideration at all on this matter,”he said when attending a programme with residents of Felda Gugusan Chini here yesterday.

The press yesterday reported that DAP life member, Amran Ahmad made a disclosure that the DAP deliberately berated the BN and Najib as well as his family with the objective of poisoning the mind of the people.

Amran, who is still working in the Publicity Bureau at the party headquarters, said the DAP was using the name of the opposition pact PKR to win in the 14th General Election (GE14) and the disclosure was made to prevent the future of the nation being gambled away.

At the same time, Najib, who is also the Member of Parliament for Pekan, criticised the attitude of the chairman of the Pakatan Harapan pact, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad who was described as practising the most extreme form of political hypocrisy for making the late Datuk Nik Aziz Nik Mat as capital to gain support.

“Today, the family of the late Tuan Guru Nik Aziz locked the mausoleum as they did not want Dr Mahathir to enter because if he was sincere, why did he not visit the grave all this while.

“If (he is) sincere, wait till after the GE14, all this while he had criticised Nik Aziz saying, among others, he was too old…should retire from politics whereas Nik Aziz was younger than him,”he said.

In his speech, Najib also pledged that BN would continue to champion the cause of Felda settlers such as what had been done for the past 60 years as it was founded by his late father, Tun Abdul Razak Hussein.

He said Felda settlers who previously did not have any land or just a small plot had benefited when they were given 10 acres of land which had now been developed.

“Some areas were formerly jungle areas, now they are located next to the highways. Some had become millionaires although they originally stayed in Felda homes which did not have road facilities.

“…only laterite soil, but today Alhamdulillah we see a very significant change as a result of the struggle and sweat of whom? Of course, the BN is the only answer,”he said.

Najib added that for this reason, settlers must continue to give their support to BN on May 9 so that the party that he helmed could proceed with the next agenda, not only in the context of Felda but involving national development as a whole.
He said that the future of Felda did not only depend on the Felda management but also depended on “who sits in Putrajaya” to ensure that the fate of the settlers was assured if the seat of national administration remained in the hands of BN.

At the event, Najib also handed over a Felda incentive cheque totalling RM580,000 to 116 settlers and the construction of 3,701 housing units through the Perumahan 1Felda (1Felda Housing) on 16 sites around Pahang including in Felda Bukit Goh, Chini Timur, Mempaga, Lurah Bilut, Jengka 19 and Panching. — Bernama
