KUALA LUMPUR: Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) plans to deploy its mobility solution for power lines and cable asset management throughout the peninsular by the third quarter of 2018.

In a statement yesterday, president and chief executive officer Datuk Seri Ir Azman Mohd said the utility company aimed to carry out trials for the use of mobility solutions for its construction and substation management, low voltage operations and repairs in the second quarter of 2018.

In the Integrated Annual Report 2017 for the four month period ended Dec 31, 2017, Azman said TNB would continue to leverage on technology, offer relevant energy-related services and enhance efficiency to further improve customer experience and domestic profitability, going forward.

“The company will also be upgrading its contact centre and work closely with the TNB group and its external partners to explore the possibility of providing relevant energy-related services.

“These services are expected to improve our domestic profitability, while customer service will be further improved, once we complete the separation of our customer service entity in 2018,” he added.

Meanwhile, TNB chairman, Tan Sri Leo Moggie said TNB had maintained its stable and sustainable earning trajectory, with an operating profit of RM3.15 billion for the four month period ended Dec 31, 2017. — Bernama
