Hasbi wins in Limbang with decreased majority

LIMBANG: Barisan Nasional candidate Hasbi Habibollah won the P221 Limbang seat with a decreased majority over PKR’s Dr Ricardo Yampil Baba last night.

Hasbi polled 12,589 votes while Dr Ricardo polled 4,879 votes, a majority of 7,710 votes.

The total number of votes cast were 17,468 votes or 67.4 per cent while 201 were spoilt votes.

The Returning Officer Jamali Busri announced the result sat 9.35pm.

In the last general election in 2013, Hasbi secured 12,999 votes by beating state PKR chief, Baru Bian, who polled 4,698 votes. Hasbi’s majority was 8,301 votes.

Batu Danau assemblyman Paulus Palu Gumbang and PBB Bukit Kota youth chief Sufian Mohat were among those present at the counting centre.
