KUCHING: The body of a 29-year-old man, who was reported missing on Monday, was found floating in Sungai Batu Kawah here yesterday.
Sources said the deceased, identified only as Voon, is believed to have been a psychiatric patient.
Former policeman Yahya Ismail, 68, was fishing nearby when he spotted something resembling a body and contacted the police.
It is understood that police found a motorcycle parked below the Batu Kawah bridge.
Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) personnel were deployed to the scene and brought the body to the Kampung Segedup jetty before handing it over to the police.
The body was later brought to the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) mortuary.
