TAWAU: Member of parliament for Tawau, Christina Liew urged the people to remain calm and uphold unity as the wish for change has taken place and it will be uphold based on the country’s constitutions.

She said any form of violence created by Malaysians will only affect fellow Malaysians and elevate irresponsible parties who wish to disturb the on-going process of transition seen in the country’s political scenario.

“Please be patient as this is the first time such transition took place and it takes time to settle,” she said.

Christina said Malaysians know of the newly elected Prime Minister, Tun Mahathir Mohamad who knows about the happenings around the country and is working towards settling matters that arise which could threaten the country from within.

Based on the current situation facing the state of Sabah, she said many are disturbed with the sudden changes seen but stressed that creating chaos will not benefit anybody and instead could lead to a more harrowing situation.

“At this juncture, stay calm and keep our unity intact because at the end of the day we are all Malaysians living under a single roof,” she added.
