PKR’s Rafizi questions the naming of Cabinet top posts

KUALA LUMPUR: PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli has questioned the announcement of three top ministerial posts by Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad today, saying that the Cabinet lineup has not been finalised.

This comes after Mahathir  named DAP’s Lim Guan Eng as finance minister, PPBM’s Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin as the home minister, and Amanah’s Mohamad Sabu as the defence minister.

Rafizi issued a statement on his blog saying talks between Dr Mahathir and PKR de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim are still ongoing, adding that there have been questions raised as to why there is no PKR representation in the top posts.

He said Dr Mahathir was to meet Anwar later this evening at the hospital in Cheras, where the latter is having his treatment.

“Any decision must be unanimously agreed by all four parties in Pakatan Harapan.

“PKR is confident that negotiations will follow the spirit of consensus to help strengthen the Pakatan Harapan government,” he said.

Despite Rafizi’s outrage, it is worth noting that the deputy prime minister named is PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.
