KOTA KINABALU: Parti Bersatu Sabah president, Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan said that it is illegal to have a swearing in of Chief Minister done twice.

“The Chief Minister has already been sworn in. Whatever is done the second time is null and void,” said Pairin at the PBS press conference when asked about the impending swearing on Warisan President Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal tonight.

He also lamented, “Have we not learned from the past? Why are we repeating this? Goodness gracious.”

He reminded that Barisan Nasional has 31 against 29 majority, unlike during the power struggle with USNO in the 1980s where the late Tun Mustapha did not have a majority.
