KUCHING: The state Barisan Nasional (BN) government will give allocations to its Members of Parliament (MP) for development in their respective constituency.

According to a reliable source, each BN MP will receive an annual allocation of RM1 million for minor rural project (MRP) and RM5 million for the rural transformation programme (RTP) from the state government.

The source said each MP will also be receiving RM250,000 allocation a year to manage their service centres.

It is said that the state BN government is forking out allocation funds to its MPs as they were already in the opposition at federal level.

State BN has 19 MPs after the recently-concluded general election.
