SIBU: Larico Infrastructure Sdn Bhd etched its name in the Malaysia Book of Records (MBR) with the tallest power transmission tower in the country.

Larico general manager William Mok Ing Wen said the tower standing at 109.79 metres is located near Lebaan Bridge, some 25 minutes drive from the town.

The tower, he said was part of the company’s contract with state’s energy provider Sarawak Energy Berhad (SEB) under Sungai Maaw-Tanjung Manis Package 3 Power Transmission Tower project.

Larico was awarded a contract totalling RM76 million to erect a total of 219 power transmission towers stretching 76 kilometers from Sungai Maaw to Tanjung Manis 2.

MBR senior research journalist Nurasyikin Ramli confirmed this achievement by Larico.

Nurasyikin presented the certificate to Mok at the tower site witnessed by SEB project manager for Sg Maaw – Tanjong Manis Package 3 project, Yii Ming Ta.
