MACC raids houses, office linked to Umno Supreme Council member

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) raided an office and two houses linked to an Umno Supreme Council member yesterday, according to a source.

The raids, which began simultaneously at 12.30 pm, were conducted to facilitate an investigation into the appointment of contractors involving Tabung Haji projects.

“The raids were at his homes in Subang, Selangor, and Baling, Kedah, as well as an office in Jalan Tun Razak here,” the source told Bernama when contacted here today.

The source said the MACC also seized some cash from one of the properties.

The case is being investigated under Section 16 of the MACC Act 2009 pertaining to soliciting/receiving gratification. – Bernama
