KOTA KINABALU: A 56-year-old man from Ranau was charged at the Sessions Court here today with raping his daughter.
The man who appeared before judge Indra Hj Ayub, faces a charge under Section 376 (3) of the Penal Code.
The indictment provides for a jail term of up to 30 years and whipping of not less 10 strokes of the cane, upon conviction.
He was alleged to have raped the girl in a room of a house at a village in Ranau at night around May.
However, no plea was taken from the accused.
Indra fixed June 6 this year for mention and ordered the accused to be detained in custody, pending disposal of the case.
