Four houses burned in the night of tanglong parade


AMUNTAI, S Kalimantan: Fire accident again hit Amuntai City, North Hulu Sungai District, South Kalimantan, in the middle of residents joyful to witness tanglong parade, Monday night, AntaranewsKalsel reported.

Kota Raden Hulu Villager Rini Maulida on Tuesday evening said she was surprised to hear the sound of firefighter cars sirens in the middle of the hustle and bustle of tanglong parade which enlivened with fireworks in Amuntai sky.

“I think part of the tanglong parade (car parade with ornamental paper lamps), but it was a fire,” said Rini.

Rini said the fire incident on Jalan Brigen H.Hasan Baseri, Kota Raden Hulu, occurred at 10 pm and the fire could only be extinguished by firefighters at 11:15 pm.

As many as four homes were burnt down and two houses were burned partially.

Village Head of Raden Hulu Thamrin informed the value of losses due to the fire accident estimated to reach Rp750 million.
