KUALA LUMPUR: The Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun has revealed that former Sabah chief minister Tan Sri Musa Aman may have used Brunei Darussalam as a transit before leaving the country.

He said this was because the Immigration Department had no record that Musa had left the country.

“Some said he was in Brunei but there was no specific location,” he told a press conference at the launch of Op Selamat 13/2018 in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri at Telekom Malaysia Convention Centre here yesterday.

Mohamad Fuzi also said Brunei authorities had been informed of the matter to assist in detecting Musa if he was still in the country.

Earlier, Sabah police commissioner Datuk Ramli Din said Musa had left Sabah since May 14. Police have been trying to record the statement of the former chief minister to assist investigations into a complaint by Sabah Yang-di-Pertua Negeri Tun Juhar Mahiruddin to police on May 19 believed to be related to a criminal threat.

In this regard, Immigration director-general Datuk Seri Mustafar Ali warned Musa that action would be taken if the Sabah Barisan Nasional chairman leaves the country illegally. — Bernama
