KENINGAU: Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal said the time has come for teachers in the state to increase their efforts to drive educational transformation in Sabah and in the country.
He said this was very important as Malaysia was heading towards the era of a developed nation where the economy is driven by educational transformation.
“I want the theme ‘Teachers Drive Educational Transformation’ to be translated by all teachers in to realising the government’s objective of creating human resource who are excellent, creative and innovative.
“Teachers must embrace this change to make the country a developed and high-income nation in the future,” he said during the 2018 Keningau District Teachers’ Day Celebrations held here yesterday.
The text of his speech was read by Sabah Assistant Minister of Education and Innovation Jenifer Lasimbang at Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan ( C ) Yuk Yin Keningau.
Mohd Shafie said the state and federal governments, specifically the Education Ministry, are always committed to planning and implementing the education agenda in a holistic manner. — Bernama
