King attends meeting of conference of rulers

KUALA LUMPUR: Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Muhammad V attended the second day of the 249th meeting of the Conference of Rulers at Istana Negara yesterday. He was accompanied by Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah, chaired the meeting. The Malay Rulers of all the states, except Pahang and Kelantan, attended the meeting.

Pahang was represented by the Regent of Pahang Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah, while Kelantan was represented by the Regent of Kelantan Dr Tengku Muhammad Faiz Petra.

The Malay Rulers were accompanied by their respective menteris besar while the Heads of State of Penang, Sabah, and Melaka were accompanied by their respective chief ministers.

Sarawak Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud was accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan. — Bernama
