Swan Square to host colouring contest, wushu event this weekend

SIBU: Some 420 pupils from Fu Yuan Kindergarten will take part in a children’s colouring contest to be held at Swan Square Complex here at 8am tomorrow.

Its principal Ling Nang Ong said apart from joining the colouring contest, the children will also visit Country Grocers Hypermarket located within Swan Square as part of their learning process.

“The prizes for the colouring contest are sponsored by the hypermarket, with the presentation ceremony to be held at 11am,” she said in a press conference yesterday attended by Swan Square Complex executive Stephen Kee.

Meanwhile, at the same press conference, it was announced that the Sarawak Chen Style Tai Ji Quan Association and Sibu Martial Art (Quan Shu) Association will hold the 2018 Sibu Division Inter-School Wushu Dragon & Lion Dance competition this Sunday at 8am.

Sibu Martial Art (Quan Shu) Association president Yung Dak Looh said the winners will go on to represent Sibu at the inter-state championship.

“There will be several events during the competition this Sunday, namely bare hands event, group event, short weapon event, long weapon event as well as traditional lion dance, just to name a few,” he said.
