LIMBANG: The police here aim to continue carrying out traffic operations to reduce the rate of road accidents.

District police chief Supt Mohd Bukhori Saffai said such operations serve to ensure road users comply with the law, especially not to operate a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.

“During a recent Ops Mabuk operation carried out at Kubu and Tarap roads, traffic police personnel issued five summonses for offences which included driving while intoxicated.

“We will continue to do such operations to make sure motorists follow the law and not drink and drive,” he said yesterday.

He added the five-hour operation went smoothly and will be carried out on a regular basis.
