MIRI: A 59-year-old fisherman was reported missing around 5.45pm yesterday after going out to sea in Kuala Sibuti, near Bekenu.
His boat was washed up onshore but he was nowhere to be found.
Zone 6 Fire and Rescue Station (Bomba) chief, Supt Law Poh Kiong in a statement here yesterday said Bomba Miri received a report on the incident at 5.45pm.
“A team of personnel had been despatched to the scene and a search and rescue (SAR) operation had been activated.
“The victim however has yet to be found,” he said.
The victim has been identified as Ebrahim Yaman.
