SIBU: A motorcyclist was killed while heading here from Matu following a single-vehicle crash yesterday.
District police chief ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said the incident happened at Sungai Bidut road around 3.30pm, and identified the deceased as Ahli Sawi, 59.
“An initial investigation revealed Ahli was travelling alone to Sibu from his coastal hometown.
“The crash happened when his motorcycle went out of control while passing through Kampung Sungai Bidut,” he said when contacted.
He said the seriously-injured victim was sent to Sibu Hospital where he succumbed shortly past 3pm.
The incident has been classified under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
