KUCHING: Passers-by helped put out a fire at a mobile phone outlet in Saujana Carpark Complex here early yesterday.
It is learnt that the flames destroyed the air-conditioning unit inside the shop.
The firefighters, who arrived a few minutes after receiving the emergency call around 8.30am, proceeded to douse the area to make sure that there were no flames that could re-ignite the fire.
They then waited for personnel from Syarikat Sesco Bhd (Sesco) to come and conduct checks on the wiring system of the premises.
There was no report of injuries in the incident.
It is said that the outlet operator, who was unhurt, found out about the fire soon after opening up the shop.
