MIRI: A resident of Desa Pujut 2, Lorong 1F/3-4, Permjaya here is urging the authorities to take immediate action to resolve the problem of a monsoon drain near his house which is clogged and emitting foul smell.
The condition of the monsoon drain near Balang’s house at Desa Pujut 2, Lorong 1F/3-4, Permjaya.
“The dry season is making it worse. The drain is not only filthy, but is also clogged and smelly,” said the resident Balang Sigar.
According to him, when it rains the drain which is blocked becomes full and the dirty water overflows.
“The smelly, dark greenish, sticky fluid flows into our houses filling our common room and spoiling our carpets and sofa.
“This leaves our houses filthy very unpleasant and in unhealthy condition,” he said to thesundaypost.
According to him, this has been happening since they moved into their house in 2008.
“I’ve called the Miri City Council (MCC) on many occasions but no action has been taken so far,” he claimed.
He hoped that the authority concerned can rectify the problem immediately.
