KUCHING: Works Minister Baru Bian has denied appointing anyone to represent him or the ministry, in a Facebook post today.
“It has come to my attention that certain individuals are claiming to be my representatives and offering to arrange meetings with me for the purposes of securing projects and other matters.
“Please note that I have not appointed anyone to act for me or to represent me or to be my assistant in Sarawak or anywhere in Malaysia except for the official staff who are employed in my office at the Works Ministry,” he said.
Baru added that all projects under Works Ministry will be awarded by open tender and there will be no preferential treatment for any bidders.
“Anyone who has been approached by individuals purporting to be my assistant/best friend/agent is advised to NOT to be misled, even if shown photos of these individuals taken with me as I normally oblige photo requests from members of the public,” he cautioned.
