Man beats disabled brother over request for money

The suspect is brought to the police station for further investigation following his arrest.

MIRI: A man allegedly assaulted his disabled brother during an argument at their house in Tudan, here on Saturday over the latter’s request for money.

The incident took place around 11.30am when the victim, aged 49, asked the suspect for money to enable him to settle a debt.

During the ensuing argument, the 47-year-old suspect allegedly used an iron rod to beat his elder sibling, causing some injuries.

Police arrived at the scene after being alerted by concerned neighbours, and promptly arrested the suspect while also seizing the iron rod as evidence.

The case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt.
