KUCHING: All assemblymen are required to list out the development projects – including those still in application stage – for their respective constituencies for the 2019-2020 term.

In stating this, Demak Laut assemblyman Dr Hazland Abang Hipni says following the requests by the relevant government departments responsible for overseeing the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP), these lists should be ready by November this year.

“Last week, we met the responsible parties in charge of the RTP where we were asked to provide a list of new applications for development projects needed to be included in the RTP list for two years (2019-2020). The closing date is November this year.

“For my area, the list should be delivered by the end of October,” he said in a statement yesterday.

In this regard, Dr Hazland said he wanted his constituents in every village under Tabuan Zone such as Kampung Tabuan Hilir, Kampung Tabuan Lama, Kampung Tabuan Melayu, Kampung Tabuan Dani, Kampung Tabuan Lot and Kampung Tabuan Tengah, to discuss their requirements regarding projects to be included in the RTP 2019-2020 list.

He said he had met up with the residents of Kampung Tabuan Melayu last week to identify development projects that could be submitted as among those under Demak Laut RTP list for the 2019-2020 term.

“The village does not have a multipurpose hall or community hall, they also don’t have a futsal field.

“In this regard, I propose for the construction of a hall costing around RM500,000 in the Tabuan area. I will also include the plan to build a futsal field – complete with fence and lighting – at a cost of RM200,000, into the RTP list.”

On the request of a bridge by the villagers of Kampung Tabuan Dani, Dr Hazland also said it would also be included in the RTP 2019-2020 list.

“I will write to the Santubong MP to inform him about that the application for the bridge project in Kampung Tabuan Dani , to be included in the Demak Laut RTP list. We have an annual budget of RM5 million to carry out development projects in Demak Laut – the latest list for two years would involve RM10 million,” he said.

Separately, the assemblyman announced the approval of a drainage project worth RM300,000 slated for Kampung Tabuan Lama, which should be implemented this year.
