KUCHING: One-eyed man Sagun @ Jub Dawen of Kampung Sadir in upper Padawan is still waiting for his application approved to have electricity supply connected to his house.

An electricity pole stands right in front of Sagun’s house.

Sanjan Daik, a political secretary to DAP chairman Chong Chieng Jen, together with a team from PKR Welfare Committee headed by Duri Ponit, visited the 64-year-old man at his house in Sadir on Sunday.

“Sagun lives with his wife and five children at the house, the only one without electricity in the village,” Sanjan said in a press statement received here yesterday.

According to Sagun, he submitted his application through the village security and development committee (JKKK) more than five years ago, but till today, he is still waiting for an answer.

He said his application had not been approved, probably as a punishment by the JKKK for setting up a PKR unit in the village.

“I hope Puncak Borneo MP Willie Mongin can help me with my application since PKR is now a part of the federal government,” Sagun said.
