Suspect leads police to place he discarded weapon

KUCHING: The suspect who allegedly slashed his victim after a fight on Aug 6 led police to the area where he discarded the machete that was used in the incident.

Police took the suspect in his purple lock-up attire to KMC flats at Jalan Ban Hock where the fight broke out and later to the riverbank behind Petanak market where he claimed to have thrown the machete into the river.

Earlier this month, Kuching district police chief ACP Ng Ah Lek who confirmed the case said the incident happened around 3.30am on Aug 6 when the suspect and the 37 year-old victim got into fight at KMC flats.

The victim was later found by the public motionless and covered in blood by the side of the road near KMC flats with severe injuries on his upper body caused by a sharp weapon.

An ambulance later rushed the victim to the Sarawak General Hospital for treatment.
