Fatimah, Simoi visit fire victims, hand over aid

SRI AMAN: Minister of Welfare, Community Well-Being, Women, Family and Childhood Development Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah yesterday visited the fire victims at Kampung Hilir, Lingga near here.

Accompanied by Lingga assemblywoman Simoi Peri, Fatimah spent about an hour with the family, who lost their home in a fire last Wednesday.

During the visit, she called on members of the family to stay strong in facing their ordeal.

Fatimah also handed over aid in the form of daily necessities to the family which was received by Jamilah Tuah, who lost two of her children in the fire.

Meanwhile, Simoi added that she is working on a special application to the Sarawak government to rebuild the family’s home.

Also present was Sri Aman District Officer Ismawie Salleh.
