KOTA KINABALU: Sabah’s first Facial Gym, a face and body muscle resistance training centre, won’t break your sweat or put a hole in your pocket but help you achieve the overall wellness that will reflect in a younger looking face.

Founder Dr Sallie Tan, PhD in Medical Science and Cosmetology, said she had developed the world’s first concept using “green treatment”, free-of-electricity tools, to help people de-stress, strengthen muscles, relax nerves, clear body toxin and look younger.

Dr Tan said the original concept is geared to helping people from all ages and is aimed to lessen pain in rheumatism, muscle string, increase metabolism system and balance the central nervous system, amongst others.

“We want to announce to the society that there is a place with people who will help them monitor their health. Our expert advisers will teach and guide you. They can guide you to take care of yourself, change your daily lifestyle, eating habits and sleeping patterns. A lot of things are happening today, we will teach and guide you to adjust your life to make you more healthy so you can achieve your total wellness.

“It is not expensive, we want to do the mass market. Everybody can afford, even the students. I am so saddened by the incident where a student jumped from the Megalong Shopping Mall recently. Why did the student jump? Because of depression. Why depressed? Because the CNS (central nervous system), the human CPU (central processing unit or brains of a computer) has problems.

“We help them create more endorphins. Endorphins will actually make people feel very happy. Your body cannot produce endorphins if you are very stressed,” she explained at the Facial Gym grand opening ceremony, officiated by Assistant Law and Native Affairs minister Jannie Lasimbang, here yesterday.

Dr Tan plans to not only open branches throughout Malaysia and overseas but also help create job opportunities and turn Sabah’s jobless females into Facial Gym trainers.

“The concept is the first one in the world. The tools are available everywhere but the development of skills and know-how is mine,” she said, adding that the concept was inspired by the actual gym concept for the body.

“I am the founder and I own the Gloria Training Beauty Academy in Beverly Hills, Bundusan. If possible, we want to get our young girls from all the villages to come and work for us. We are going to open throughout the whole of Malaysia.

“Those with money, come to invest. Those who want to work, come to us. We want to help train them to be a step higher, not only become a clerk or beautician. We want to highly train them to become trainers,” she urged.
