“SHO for IPT programme will be 100 per cent handled by NIOSH and conducted at IPT premises to minimize cost and maintain its quality,” Lee added.
He explained further that NIOSH will also organise workshops for examination preparation and prepare four full examination papers for the programme.
This new initiative will help increase the number of workers with skills in occupational safety and health (OSH) to serve the OSH needs of industries.
According to Lee, it will also benefit employers to have young workers equipped with OSH knowledge and certificates.
“This programme is part of NIOSH’s efforts to empower future workers and help reduce workplace accidents in the country,” he said.
