Army man arrested after running amok at home

KUCHING: A 39-year-old man, who ran amok and tried to hurt his son, was apprehended by the police at his house in Siol Kandis on Monday.

According to a source, the man, an army personnel attached in Johore, began to throw a tantrum in the afternoon, but family members managed to control him. He ran amok in the evening and tried to hit his son.

A police patrol vehicle was dispatched to the scene at around 11pm after family members made a  distress call.

It is said that the suspect has no psychiatric record.

The suspect was apprehended without incident and was taken to the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) for check up at midnight.
