KUCHING: Kuching Happy Runners Club held its first run on Wednesday night which doubled as a launch event for the club at Saradise here.

The run attracted about 200 people of all ages who ran around the Saradise area.

According to club president Chong Kim Heng, the run will be held every Wednesday at the same venue.

“Running as a form of exercise is the in-thing these days.

“If you feel the urge to run yet do not have anyone to accompany you, then please make a date with us.

“We safeguard weekly Wednesday runs as we set a minimum of 10 runners,” he said prior to the maiden run.

He added registration is at 6.30pm and the run starts at 7pm.

Those interested to join as members can do so by taking part in four runs with the club and pay a RM10 one-time registration fee.

Annual subscription fee is only RM10.

By the fifth run, they will receive a free T-shirt and a blinker, he said.

The T-shirt and blinkers are for the first 100 members only and sponsored by Chong himself.
