SIBU: Some 1,000 spectators packed the hall of a leading hotel here Saturday to watch Mamma-Mia! The Musical 2018.
Held for the first time here, the musical performance and evergreen smash hits from the Swedish group – ABBA thrilled locals and visiting fans alike.
It was jointly organised by Sarawak Arts Council (MSS), Ministry of Tourism,
Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports and Sibu Resident Office, and performed by Sarawak State Symphony Orchestra (SONS) choir.
The SONS choir mesmerised the audience with the wonderful and unforgettable performance.
Mamma-Mia The Musical, created by playwright Catherine Johnson, ‘celebrates life, love and power of women’ based on songs by ABBA.
The songs repertoire performed on Saturday included ‘I have a dream’, ‘Honey-Honey’, ‘Money, Money, Money’, ‘Thank you for the music’, ‘Mamma Mia!’, Chiquitita’, ‘Dancing queen’, ‘Lay all your love on me’ and ‘Super trooper’ among others.
