SANDAKAN: A six-year-old boy was rescued by firemen after he was almost drowned in a drain near Taman Rajawali Mile 7 here around 10.43am yesterday.
Mohd Adam bin Abdullah was playing inside a drain when he almost got drowned.
A witness saw the incident but was unable to go down to the drain to rescue the victim. He then called the Sandakan fire station at 10.43am.
Sandakan Fire and Rescue Department chief Anddre Andrew said nine personnel, including seven rescue personnel, rushed and reached at the scene at 10.57am.
The victim was rescued but he was unconscious and was immediately sent to the Duchess of Kent Hospital for immediate medical attention.
