PUTRAJAYA: The 2018 National Day Parade at the Putrajaya Square this Friday will comprise four segments – nationalism, public order, national security and social integration – which will reflect Malaysians’ spirit of patriotism and love for the country.
Bernama checks on the rehearsal of the parade here yesterday found government-linked companies (GLC), government-linked investment companies (GLIC) and companies listed on Bursa Malaysia were among the contingents in the nationalism segment.
In the public order segment, contingents from agencies involved in search and rescue operations, such as the Special Malaysia Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team (SMART), National Disaster Management Agency (NADMA) and the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department, will also showcase their assets frequently used in various operations.
For national security segment, the contingents will be from the various uniformed bodies, including the Royal Malaysia Police and the three branches of the Malaysian Defence Forces. The Royal Malaysian Air Force will also perform a fly-past and aerobatic show involving its fighter jets.
The social integration segment, on the other hand, will showcase the unification of Malaysian nationals through dance and singing performances coordinated by the National Culture and Arts Department involving the children from Permata Seni Tari programme, Kuala Lumpur Sabah Children Association and Soka Gakkai Malaysia.
A total of 15,000 people are involved in the 2018 National Day Parade themed “Sayangi Malaysiaku” (Love My Malaysia) scheduled for Friday here. – Bernama
