MIRI: Riam Road Secondary School (RRSS) is holding a Reptile Exhibition from Aug 30 to Sept 2 in conjunction with Miri Trade Fair (Mitraf) organised by Miri See Hua Marketing Sdn Bhd.

RRSS CEO Dato’ Dr Fong Onn Min said that the exhibition featuring hairy spider, scorpion, gecko, lizard-lion, hedgehog, pythons and horned frog provides great exposure for the local community and students.

“For our students, handling the reptiles require a lot of patience and learning process. They also have to
brief the public who visit their booths with the correct information on the reptile’s habitat, food and species. The experience is great  for them,” he lauded.

Fong went on to praise a student, Kendrick Tho, who is passionate about geckos and snakes.

“In 2015, Tho successfully bred a new species, Banana Spider Super Enchi which he registered with World of Ball Python to be recognised as the first person to successfully breed this new species.
