Man pleads guilty to poaching eggs from mum, fined RM4,000

MIRI: A jobless man charged with stealing 43 trays of eggs belonging to his mother was fined RM4,000 in default three months’ jail by the magistrates’ court here yesterday.

Mohammad Wong Sie Ong Abdullah, 39, pleaded guilty under Section 379 of the Penal Code which provides for seven years’ jail or a fine, or both upon conviction.

The accused stole 20 trays of regular eggs and 23 trays of salted eggs worth RM996 together with another accused at Tamu Muhibbah here on Aug 22 at 2.30am.

The eggs belonged to his mother who is a trader at the market.

Inspector Mohd Khairi Mohd Noor prosecuted before Magistrate Zuraini Ali Musa, while the accused was unrepresented.
