LIMBANG: Effective management of Disaster Forward Bases managed jointly by government agencies, volunteers, security forces and villages is important to ensure that relief aid reach the target groups.

Assistant Minister of Community Wellbeing Datuk Francis Harden Hollis said to achieve this, there is a need among the various govt and private sector bodies, organisations, local leaders and communities to consolidate cooperation in disaster management.

“At the same time, they should always have high level of preparedness for any eventualities,” he said at
Limbang Divisional level simulation and training programme on Forward Bases Management at Kampung Telahak here recently.

The programme was organised by Limbang Welfare Department in collaboration with the Disaster Relief Management branch of Sarawak Welfare Department.

Also present were Limbang MP Hasbi Habibollah, Limbang Resident Ir Ahmad Denny Ahmad Fauzi, divisional acting Welfare Officer Harry Silas and Kampung Telahak headman Saadan Mohidin.
