KOTA KINABALU: It is important for PKR Sabah chief Christina Liew, to carry on with her work to strengthen the party at the grassroots despite rumours that several members are thinking of removing her from her party post.
PKR vice-president Nurul Izzah Anwar said this when asked by the media on the issue that has been circulating recently.
“With the party election coming, there is bound to be rumblings on the ground, different dynamics in the party … but it is important for every representative to do his or her best to serve the party and people.
“What is crucial for Liew now is for her to proceed with her work and strengthen party’s grassroots. Meanwhile, the party election should be taken in the spirit of a big family,” she said.
A news portal recently reported that Christina’s position as Sabah PKR chairman is on shaky ground after a falling out with PKR division chiefs.
Quoting a party source, the report said most of the people in the divisions no longer favour her as chairman.
