KUCHING: Three individuals have been arrested for beating and robbing a disabled man (OKU) in an incident that occurred last Wednesday.

District police chief ACP Ng Ah Lek said acting on information received, the suspects aged between 20 to 40 years old were rounded up by the police at Lubok Antu, Sri Aman on Sunday.

“We also seized a white compact car and two sharp objects (blades),” he said when contacted.

On Sept 5, two disabled men were passing through the Jalan Tun Razak overhead bridge lane in their compact car, when they were blocked by three unknown persons in a sedan car.

One of the suspects exited the sedan and hit one of the victims on the head.

Few minutes later, a compact car approached the victims. Two men came out of the car and punched the other victim (complainant) on his face. They snatched his car keys and fled the scene with his compact car.

Ng said that the victim’s vehicle was recovered at the side of the road along Jalan Datuk Mohammad Musa, Kota Samarahan last Friday (Sept 7).

The case is being investigated under Sections 394 and 397 of the Penal Code.
