Duo held for selling illegal lottery

LIMBANG: Two men were separately arrested during a police operation targeting the sale of illegal lottery here.

District police chief Supt Mohd Bukhori Saffai said the first suspect, aged 22, was
picked up around 1.20pm on Tuesday at a premises at Jalan Buangsiol after he was caught in the act selling illegal lottery to customers.

“The arresting team seized RM110, a mobile phone and related paraphernalia from the suspect,” he told reporters yesterday.

He disclosed that the second suspect was detained recently at a business premises near the main bazaar at Jalan Padang.

Seized from the 21-year-old were RM275, two mobile phones and six sheets of paper with various four-digit numbers written on them, he added.

Both men will be investigated under Section 4A(a) of Common Gaming House Act 1953.
