KUCHING: SMK Tun Abang Haji Openg has created a new entry in the Malaysia Book of Records with its giant Jalur Gemilang made of egg trays.

The ‘flag’ measuring 70 feet by 140 feet is made of approximately 9,800 egg trays and took two weeks to complete.

Principal Affida Helmi thanked all students, teachers, staff, and the corporate sector, for playing a part in the record feat to mark Malaysia Day.

Over 100 students took around one hour and 25 minutes to arrange the egg trays to form the Jalur Gemilang.

The project also seeks to foster love for the country, highlight and improve talents, as well as improve the school’s image.
