10 projects to upgrade dilapidated schools in Sabah completed

KOTA KINABALU: A total of 10 out of 120 school rehabilitation projects in Sabah have been completed, said Chief Secretary to the Government Datuk Seri Dr Ismail Bakar.

He said through the projects that involved a total allocation of nearly RM500 million, dilapidated school buildings would be upgraded or rebuilt using the industrialised building system.

Ismail said the remaining projects were expected to be completed next year.

“The (remaining) projects will be closely monitored,” he told reporters after visiting the upgrading projects of Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Gudon and SK Unggun in Manggatal near here today.

Also present were Education Ministry secretary-general Datuk Dr Mohd Ghazali Abas, Sabah Federal secretary Datuk Nor Rizan Mohd Thani, Sabah State Secretary Datuk Hashim Paijan and Sabah Education director Datuk Maimunah Suhaibul. – Bernama
